Home Traveling Motorcade Guidelines

Motorcades, or groups of vehicles traveling together, have the potential to create unique travel conditions on the PA Turnpike. In order to ensure the safety and security of your travel and other PA Turnpike customers, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) requires advance notification for the following motorcades:

  • Motorcades with more than 25 vehicles, including motorcycles.
  • VIP/Secret Service motorcades.
  • Military or National Guard movements.
  • Groups of five or more vehicles that are unable to maintain a minimum speed of 55 mph.
  • Groups of vehicles traveling under special circumstances that interfere with the normal movement of traffic.

Motorcade Request Form

Coordinating with the PTC in advance will help facilitate your trip on the day of travel while maintaining the safety of other customers traveling the PA Turnpike. Should your motorcade meet the conditions identified above, please complete the Motorcade Travel Contact Information Form at least two weeks in advance of your travel date.

The PTC is obligated to collect a toll from every vehicle that travels its system and cannot waive tolls for groups regardless of the nature or intent of the motorcade. Each vehicle traveling in the motorcade is responsible for payment of tolls via E-ZPass or our Toll By Plate (TBP) program.

Please contact the PTC's Motorcade Coordinator shown above if you have any questions.

Please click here to submit your motorcade request using the Motorcade Travel Contact Information Form. You will be redirected to a new site to complete the form.
